Summary

We are looking for a driven Lead Operator to direct and assist the team of Production Operators with the aim of packaging quality product correctly. This position is essential for ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to our commitment to excellence in the Plumbing and Building Industry.

Pay rate: 12.65 per hour plus a 0.30 per hour shift premium.

2-shift rota working 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00. 3-shift rota potential in future including 22:00 - 06:00.

Responsibilities

Guiding production operatives, ensuring they are conducting their work correctly and efficiently. Allocating tasks to production operatives. Training production operatives in packing, operating, finishing, other relevant duties. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation on the mouldshop floor, particular focus on packing and storage areas. Providing cover to production operatives. Assisting to maintain quality, reporting and recording scrap. Conducting 2 hourly quality assurance checks, Visuals, measurements, gauges etc, and recording this on the QA check sheets. Filing away complete QA records. Keeping the QC lab tidy and organised. Ensuring all product is packaged correctly, conforming to quality standards and packaging specifications. Active participation in process improvement activities. Some operation of the automated packaging machines.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a team leader in previous roles. Quality control Forklift licence desirable First aid and fire marshal training desirable Ability to operate hand tools and machinery safely. Experience with materials handling is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
