The Role

Lead Pastoral Administrator


Salary: Grade 5 Points 7 - 11 (35 hours a week, Monday - Friday, 7.45am - 3.15pm)
Term Time Only (38 Weeks)
(20,354.80 - 22,186.67 Dependent on Level of Service) - *Actual Salary
Location: Dormston School, Mill Bank, Dudley, West Midlands, DY3 1SN

As the Lead Pastoral Administrator, you will be at the heart of our pastoral care system. Working closely with Heads of Year, the Senior Leadership Team, and our Safeguarding and Inclusion teams, you will provide crucial administrative support that ensures the smooth running of our student welfare services.

Your responsibilities will include:managing and maintaining pastoral records, student files, and safeguarding logs; coordinating communications with families regarding pastoral matters; supporting behaviour tracking systems, attendance follow-ups, and intervention logs; scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and taking minutes for key pastoral meetings; acting as a liaison between students, parents, and staff to facilitate timely and effective support.

We are looking for someone who is:highly organised with excellent attention to detail; compassionate, discreet, and resilient when dealing with sensitive issues; skilled in Microsoft Office and confident with school MIS systems (e.g., Go4Schools/SIMS/Arbor); experienced in an educational or safeguarding setting (preferred); calm under pressure and passionate about student wellbeing.

Key Requirements


Working towards or gained NVQ Level 3.

Skills & Experience


Experience of administrative/clerical work.
Good Numeracy and Literacy Skills.
Confident use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience of school MIS desirable.
Previous experience of managing others.
