About Us



Northgate is a vibrant, multi-cultural primary school situated very close to Crawley town centre. We are a large primary school with 660 children on roll currently including a Specialist Support Centre (SSC) for children who are deaf, and a further 40-place maintained Nursery.

Job Details



We are seeking to appoint a Lead Pupil Support Assistant (PSA) who can work alongside our class teachers to offer support for our children to help meet their specific learning needs. Applicants will need to be competent in English and mathematics and will need to share our commitment to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. The Lead PSAs will be expected to lead a group of Pupil Support Assistants in their year group, meeting with them regularly and supporting them in their role. The Lead PSA will also be expected to liaise with class teachers and phase leaders to monitor, assess and record pupil progress and contribute to the planning of the children's learning. Part of the role may include 1:1 work with children who have complex special educational needs.





Working hours are term time only; the role also includes lunchtime supervision responsibilities. All PSAs are paid 15 minutes extra each week to incorporate an hour's CPD/ training after school each month.
