Job Description

Purpose of job:

To provide day-to-day management and supervision for part-time youth workers, trainee youth workers and volunteers and ensure the quality standards of the organisation are met.

Principal Responsibilities



Provide management and supervision for part-time youth workers, trainee youth workers and volunteers To develop positive relationships with young people and to provide opportunities for social education. Encourage participation and decision-making, which enable young people to make choices and take responsibility for their actions To ensure the implementation of policy decisions within the youth work and project. Maintain quality of service provision by ensuring that all work is planned, delivered, evaluated and monitored in line with the organisation's quality standards. To be aware of current issues concerning young people and develop appropriate responses to needs within the local community. To undertake an agreed programme of training. To liase with other agencies concerning the needs of young people

Main Duties:



To ensure Health & Safety rules, regulations and legislation are complied with, both on and individual basis and to maintain a safe environment for young people to meet in.

. Maintain quality of service provision including giving directions to other workers and volunteers

. Assisting in the motivation, retention, development and support of staff and volunteers

. Initiating and monitoring developments of services, particularly with other agencies

. First line management responsibility for workers & volunteers and assist in their motivation, retention, development and support including induction, assessing training needs and initial disciplinary of workers & volunteers.

. Maintain a safe environment for young people to meet in by ensuring Risk Assessments are undertaken for all activities and facilities, and premises are checked & any damages or irregularities are recorded and reported.

. Perform & ensure all administrative duties are carried out as required by line management in line with the organisation quality standards procedure

. To ensure adequate cover whilst holiday time is taken by staff

. To attend staff meetings.

. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post.

The post holder must carry out their duties with full regard to the projects policies.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 14.00-16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.5 - 5 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person
