We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Risk Officer(real Estate).



As a Lead Risk Officer (Real Estate) within the Credit Risk team you will be evaluating and judgementally approving under a significant personal approval authority lending requests from the Real Estate Finance Team across a number of Real estate asset classes including Commercial Investment/Development, Residential Build to Rent, Student Accommodation, Housebuilding, Hotels, Social Housing, Construction and Contracting companies.

In this role, you will:



Evaluate, recommend, and approve transactions and annual reviews within a personal approval authority. Ensure prudent and well-structured credit proposals to reduce credit losses. Be responsible for implementing Risk credit risk policies, procedures, and standards Assist the Senior Risk Officer by assessing the credit quality of the allocated portfolio, managing, and improving the risk profile. Supporting the commercial lending growth agenda.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:



Proven commercial credit skills with both complex transactional and credit process management experience is essential for this role. Experience in Real Estate lending is preferred. A sound understanding of the Economic landscape and the ability to identify/translate any potential risks associated with this. General knowledge of law, accounting, and regulatory requirements. Strong communication skills - verbal and written with the ability to simplify complex information and convey it clearly is essential. Management and Leadership skills with experience of liaising with senior stakeholders. This will be required when communicating findings related to credit risk.


This role is based in Birmingham.
