Purpose of Job:
The purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate the safe and efficient delivery of perioperative care within a defined clinical specialty in a private orthopaedic surgical centre. The role involves leading both clinical practice and operational planning, ensuring that surgical lists are appropriately staffed, resourced, and executed to the highest standards.
Acting as a key point of leadership, the post-holder supports service improvement, promotes patient safety, and contributes to the professional development of the theatre team, while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, clinical governance, and patient experience standards.

Required:
Active NMC/ HCPC registration.
Qualified Surgical First Assist.
Experience of tight budgetary management including Profit and Loss accountability.
Educated to degree level with considerable further professional development.
ILS Qualification.
Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in operating theatre setting with specific orthopaedic and spinal scrub skills.
Strong organisational and communications skills.
Demonstrable experience of driving growth.
Proven ability to lead a multi-functional team.
Mentorship/Practice Assessor.
Evidence of clinical reasoning skills across a varied patient case mix.
Effective communicator with the ability to build professional relationships.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Ideal:
ALS Qualification.
