Solutions Architect

Hybrid Working
We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

• Responsibility for creating technology solutions, and stage 0 costs, to meet business requirements, in line with Cluster and Group IT Strategies and Architectures
• Working with supply chain (including external) as appropriate
• Adding clarity to business requirements; challenges business requirements and demands to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created
• Working with project managers and Global Technology Sourcing to advise on supplier and cost options, and to ensure that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof of concept solutions
• Ensuring that solutions adhere to architectural and quality standards and policies.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Extensive experience creating fit for purpose technology solutions that are deliverable, meet business need, and correspond to organisational strategic guidance
• Substantial experience of application integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications.
• A broad understanding of a wide variety of technologies pertinent to Barclaycard.
• Able and confident to question stakeholders creatively and professionally.

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Payment Industry experience
• Ability to understand different project methodologies, project lifecycles, major phases, dependencies and milestones within a project.
• Ability to work out how and where third party products could be deployed. Good knowledge of vendor evaluation and selection best practice.

Where will you be working?

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we\'ve been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
