Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual who would like to join a progressing company. This role is situated within an established Stores department; therefore, strong teamwork skills, progressive thinking, and a high level of drive are essential.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills



Essential knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) required Stores experience preferable FLT license preferable but not essential Driving License preferable but not essential Maths and English GCSE grade 4/5 (equivalent grade C equivalent) is preferable but not essential

Summary of Job:



Responsible for the organisation, running of and control of the stores, stores personnel and issue of materials/goods within the company and maintaining an effective documented stock control system Responsible for the maintenance and good housekeeping of all storage areas and records in accordance with current company policies and procedures To carry out activities in accordance with the relevant Quality, Health & Safety, Environment & Energy systems and with a 'hands on' approach Responsible for the running of Stores and Stores personnel

Staff Relationship:



Responsible to the Quality Control Manager or QA/HSE Manager in their absence Liaises with all departments, as appropriate Shall work in conjunction with Quality Control inspectors and administrators Has proactive involvement with internal and external audits

Duties and Responsibilities:



General



Shall be fully committed to the achievement of company policies and objectives with special respect to quality, organisation and safety. Shall make recommendations, as appropriate, for improvements to existing working practice

Lead Areas



Organisation, running and control of incoming goods including raising, closing and issuing of relevant documentation to relevant departments Organisation, running and control of stock/parts allocations, levels and recording of stock and parts Organisation, running and control of the Store's functions including FIFO, stock rotation and job specific parts Organisation, running and control of issuing parts to relevant departments/sub-suppliers Organisation and control of general tidiness, housekeeping and upkeep within the Stores, in line with relevant Quality, Health & Safety, Environment & Energy systems

General Stores Areas



Responsible for receiving incoming goods and material into the company, raising/closing the necessary documentation prior to release to Stores, Quality Control Inspection and Production Responsible for maintaining all storage areas and preservation of stored materials/goods Responsible for the positive identification of all stored material and goods within the storage areas To ensure that material identification numbers are recorded on applicable route cards Responsible for the maintenance of the Stores to company standard and an acceptable level of tidiness, in line with Health & Safety at Barton Firtop sites Responsible for movement of stock between all Barton Firtop storage areas Responsible for issuing material/goods from storage areas and maintaining accurate records Ability to carry out manual handling duties, including lifting, moving, and stacking products as required within the warehouse To assist with documentation requirements within Quality, when required Shall undertake reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, commensurate with the nature of the job and in the best interests of the company

Hours of work



Works hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 40-hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8.5-hour shift with half an hour lunch break and Friday covers a 6-hour shift with no lunch break. You are also entitled to a paid break per day, further details will be given at interview stage.
