CK Architectural is in its 12th year and is continuing to grow through client popularity due to our unique system of design and build services. Due to continued success across Yorkshire and the UK, we are looking to add a Lead Structural Engineer. The role will be based at our main office in Melton, East Yorkshire working on a wide variety of projects. We are continuously improving our drawing standards driving to produce the best technical build support drawing packages.

The job role will be flexible between office/working-from-home and the necessary site assessment visits. Qualified Structural Engineer required who has the ability to run a new Structural Engineering Department within a rapidly growing Architectural Company. Must be able to work without guidance and be suitably qualified for insurances.

The right candidate will be suitably qualified and experienced to provide structural design and he necessary calculations for a host of residential/commercial projects. Able to provide innovative solutions, self check work and build/manage a team. Undertaking projects from simple residential renovations to bespoke commercial properties and much more.

This job would suit a structural engineer familiar with the industry with relevant qualifications such as BENG-CENG or incorporated.

Duties

Providing structural design solutions Design foundations, roofs, beams, frames, loft conversions, posts Vast experience on UK building standard, style and methods Assessing and surveying properties/construction sites Preparing reports, calculations, designs and drawings Making calculations loads and stresses Selecting appropriate construction materials Providing technical advice Liaising with relevant professional staff such as architects Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors Administering contracts Inspecting properties to check conditions/foundation Use relevant software such as tedds, Tekla, autocad
Qualifications/Experience

10+ Years post graduate experience in similar role Working knowledge of UK buildings new and historic Proficiency in relevant software Have knowledge of UK Planning Policies & Building Regulations Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. A keen eye for detail and a passion for architecture and design. BENG, CENG or Incorporated (required) Extensive experience providing structural design for building adaptations and new construction
