Job Vacancy - Lead Supervisor Playmates, Gwersyllt
Playmates in Gwersyllt are looking for an experienced childcare professional to join our small and friendly team as Lead Supervisor.
Playmates provides breakfast, after school and holiday club services and operates from rooms within Gwersyllt Community Primary School. It is registered to provide care for up to 60 children under the age of 12 years and is currently open from 07:30 - 08:00 and 15:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday, and from 07:30 - 17:30 during the school holidays.
We are looking for a passionate, caring and reliable playworker to manage the service, ensuring all children are provided with high quality and varied activities in a safe and caring environment.
The post is for an initial 20 hours per week, worked between 2pm-5:30pm, with additional time for administration. The hourly rate of pay is very competitive at 14.00ph. Please note the hours for this role include term time and school holidays and the role will receive 5 weeks paid holiday, per annum pro rata.
Key duties and responsibilities
To oversee the day-to-day running of Playmates, ensuring all policies and procedures are correctly followed and a reliable and professional service is provided.
To manage the staffing levels of the team and provide leadership.
To be the Registered Person for Playmates, taking responsibility for safeguarding and being the main point of contact for parents.
To work with the team to develop a varied programme of fun and engaging activities for all children who attend the setting.
To keep up to date with all training and qualifications.

NVQ Level 3 Playworker Qualification
Essential
Childcare experience of primary aged children

An Enhanced DBS Certificate
Essential
12-hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Essential/ willing to attend training
Level C Safeguarding
Essential/ willing to attend training
Food Hygiene Certificate
Essential/ willing to attend training
Excellent communication and administration skills

Previous experience of supervising staff

Previous experience as a registered person

The position will commence from 1st August, dependent on references and notice periods, and will include handover sessions with the current Lead Supervisor.
