Overview





To contribute to the development and leadership of provision for students experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties through both leading and supporting activities within the SEND department and by liaising closely with internal and external stakeholders (including academy staff, families, external agencies) to improve provision and outcomes for assigned students. Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to identify needs and plan, deliver and evaluate provision for students experiencing SEMH challenges so all students can achieve their full potential.

About the role





Role responsibility:

Arrange and oversee screening assessments (inc. SDQ and CORDS) for students with suspected SEMH needs Design, plan, deliver and evaluate provision for students utilising the SEMH provision in liaison with the SENDCo and Deputy SENDCo Lead and direct small group and 1-1 sessions with students in line with departmental expectations In liaison with the SENDCO and pastoral leaders, develop and oversee entry and exit criterion for SEMH support which prioritises rapid identification and support as well as clear strategies to ensure reintegration into the mainstream provision offered by the school. Act as the lead professional for students accessing SEMH provision at designated times Organise and safely manage the appropriate learning environment and resources Assess students' responses to learning tasks and, where appropriate, modify methods to meet individual and/or group needs Identify training opportunities to further develop SEMH provision in the school, attend such training or liaise with other colleagues attending and disseminate and adopt key learning points as necessary.

-Maintain a positive and proactive working relationship with staff responsible for students accessing SEMH provision (e.g. Form Tutor, Performance -Director, Attendance Officer, Safeguarding Officer, subject teachers) and the families of these students
