Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic
Lead Therapist
to join our expanding clinical team. The role involves managing our therapeutic input for our residential placements by providing clinical analysis and oversight to the residential managers and staff teams and feedback to MDT meetings. The postholder will also be involved in completing specialised psychoanalytic psychotherapy assessments, state of mind /therapeutic needs assessments as well as formulating therapeutic treatment plans. The role requires the postholder to use creative strategies to engage young people who have challenging and complex needs.

Education
Essential training:
Good relevant honours degree or recognised equivalent in Psychology, Counselling, Occupation Therapy
Postgrad accredited training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
Specialised training in trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy or trauma informed dialectical behaviour therapy
Desired Training:
Additional training in trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy or trauma informed dialectical behaviour therapy
Mentalisation based therapy
Solution focused brief therapy
Attachment based therapy
Art/music psychotherapy
Experience/knowledge
Essential:
1 year experience in a managerial position
2 years post qualification working with children and adolescents
Experience working with children/young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences/trauma
Experience working with children/young people will challenging and complex needs
Experience of interagency working
Experience of lone working and knowledge of risk management and ability to monitor risk and act accordingly to ensure safety
Desired:
Experience of working with children/young people with neurodiversity (ASC/ADHD/ODD)
Experience of working with Children in Care or within the social care system
Experience of working with children and young people subject to a Deprivation of Liberty safeguard order
Registration requirements:
HCPC, BPS, BACP, AFT etc
Driving Licence and having access to a vehicle is required.
