A true leadership nursing role. A four-day week. A not-for-profit mission that genuinely changes lives.
If You Are Ready to Lead, Not Just Cope
If you are an experienced RVN who wants your voice to matter, your leadership to be trusted, and your nursing skills to be fully used, this could feel like a breath of fresh air.
This is a role for someone who wants responsibility, influence, and purpose, without the politics or hierarchy that often come with senior titles.
The Opportunity
We are working with a not-for-profit, community-focused veterinary organisation in Wrexham, that has built something genuinely different. Their clinics exist to remove barriers to care, not maximise profit, and that philosophy shapes everything they do.
This Lead Veterinary Nurse role is not about firefighting or filling gaps. It is about leading a nursing team with autonomy, mentoring others, shaping standards, and helping more pets access high-quality, affordable care.
You will work in a spacious, well-equipped clinic with four consulting rooms, two theatres, and separate dog and cat wards. You will be supported by a culture that actively avoids hierarchy and values contribution over job titles.
Why This Role Is Different
Nursing-Led, Not Vet-Dominated
You are trusted to carry out the full scope of nursing, while leading standards, compliance, and development across the team.
Leadership With Support
You will mentor nurses, run one-to-ones, lead meetings, and develop others, with backing to become a Clinical Coach if you are not already.
Structure Without Rigidity
Rota management, stock control, and compliance sit with you, but you are supported by systems and colleagues who want you to succeed.
Purpose Beyond Profit
Free consultations, transparent pricing, and a clear mission mean your leadership directly impacts pets who might otherwise go untreated.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You will focus on settling in, building trust with the nursing team, understanding systems, and getting comfortable with the clinic flow and values.
By Three Months
You will be confidently leading the nursing team, running meetings, supporting development plans, and contributing to rota and stock decisions.
By Six Months
You will be fully embedded as a key leader in the clinic, driving best practice, growing caseload responsibly, and shaping how care is delivered.
