Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic lead warehouse operative to join our small but busy team. You will be working within the catering trade which is fast paced and demanding. We are a family run business based in Granton in Edinburgh and deliver fresh produce throughout Scotland.

The lead warehouse operative is responsible for completing general warehouse operative tasks, as well as, daily shift management and supervisory tasks.

Responsibilities

Daily shift management including prioritising, organising and delegating daily, weekly and monthly tasks General management of the warehouse area ensuring this meets the required standard Supervising 1 warehouse operative Unloading vehicles delivering stock Completing through checks on incoming stock for accuracy and quality Efficiently storing stock while adhering to good stock rotation practices and BRC standards Restocking picking area in preparation for the packing team Completing accurate stock level checks to inform buyer Daily, weekly and monthly warehouse cleaning duties Preparing orders for delivery to customer as required Liaising with colleagues in other departments to ensure good communication

Skills

An enthusiastic and positive approach to work Experience of working in a warehouse is essential Experience of driving a forklift truck is desirable Experience of taking the lead within a team is desirable Ability to develop a good product knowledge Please note this is a very physical job which involves being on your feet and regular manual handling lifting up to 25kg

Hours of Work

Monday- Friday between 5am and 7am start (on a rota basis) until job complete (approximate finish times between 1pm and 4pm).

1 in 2 Saturdays between 7am and 12:30pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 15.25 per hour
