Job Description
An experienced
lead worker
required for an immediate start on one of our heritage projectsnear Gatwick
. Parker and Son are a well-established family construction business based near Battle, East Sussex.Responsibilities and Duties
Remove and carrying our repairs to broken lead sheeting.
Fitting new lead roof
Measuring and cutting materials to the correct size and shape.
Welding, bossing and cladding
Sealing roof joints to make watertight
Working with other craftspeople such as joiners, roofers and stone masons.
Working at heights, using ladders, scaffolding and safety equipment.
Working on lead slates, lined gutters, church steeples, domes, turrets and spires.
Qualifications and skills
Previous experience as a lead worker or roofer.
Previous experience in the heritage sector an advantage
Attention to details
Ability to work from own initiative and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills.
Must have a full UK driving license
Good knowledge of tools, equipment and safety regulations.
Friendly, reliable and customer focused.
Commitment to Health and Safety.

Four week fixed term contract
