Sparks Teaching Services

as a Learner Support Assistant, you will contribute to the education and social development of students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will assist with the delivery of learning programmes and activities in the classroom/ workshop or off-site learning situations.

There are 5 psoitions available on a temporary basis with an end date of the 4th July 2026. Please note that there is a potential to take on a permanent contract upon expiry of this temporary contract.

Main Responsibilities:



Meeting the support needs including intimate personal support of individual learners, in the classroom and out of class situations Contributing to the review of learner progress and achievement and attend meetings as appropriate Liaising with learner, families and external agencies as directed by the line manager Routine administrative tasks associated with the above duties, including record keeping Participating in programmes of planned development and training as may be recommended by line managers and contributing to the development of Additional Support Services across the college Liaising with appropriate additional support and mainstream staff to promote the inclusion of learners with learning difficulties and disabilities according to college policy. Assisting learners to access medication under the direct guidance of the line manager and the Health and Safety officer and in accordance with procedures outline in induvial risk assessment. Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with the Colleges Health and Safety policies and procedures, in association with other colleagues and managers Participation in quality assurance and controls procedure To comply with requirements of all company and Sheffield College policies ad procedures.
