The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a proactive, knowledgeable, and experienced early years professional (or recently qualified primary teacher) to take on the role of
Learning & Education Officer
and lead on educational practice across our group.
Working closely with our Area Manager and Nursery Management Teams, you will lead on educational practice, planning, and curriculum development across all three settings. Your role will support and mentor room seniors and wider staff teams to ensure the delivery of a rich, child-centred early learning experience that meets national standards and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning and implementation of a broad and balanced Early Years curriculum
Work with representatives from local authority partners to ensure robust and compliant delivery of early years education
Create and maintain a nurturing, positive learning ethos across all settings
Support, give direction and feedback on curriculum planning in all playrooms
Train and mentor staff teams in best practice in planning, observing and evaluating children's experiences
Conduct and report on monthly audits of room planning and staff observations
Advise management teams on curriculum development and contribute to improvement planning
Ensure children's wellbeing, care, and educational needs are consistently met
Work both on the floor alongside teams and on curriculum documentation, planning and developing high quality staff interactions
Lead on ASN including attending child planning meetings and providing support to staff and parents on support plans and working with outside agencies
This Role Might Suit:
A recently qualified primary school teacher, deputy manager, or nursery manager with a strong interest in pedagogy and improving the quality of children's learning experiences and environments.
You Will Have:
A relevant qualification: GTCS registration, BA/PDA in Childhood Practice (SCQF level 9) or equivalent
At least 2 years' recent experience in a nursery or school setting
Strong knowledge of Scottish Early Years frameworks, curriculum and pedagogy
Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills
A flexible, hands-on approach and ability to work across multiple locations
Excellent IT, written communication, and administrative skills
A positive, supportive leadership style that inspires confidence in others
Driving licence

Salary of 30,000-32,000 depending on experience
