About the Role





As a Learning Designer, you'll create compelling digital learning content across our catalogue product streams. Building on foundational design skills, you'll take greater ownership of projects and client interaction--guiding solutions from concept to delivery.



You'll apply instructional design principles, work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and help define learner experiences that are relevant, accessible, and engaging.

What You Will Be Doing




Roadmap & Delivery Support




Design, write, and structure content for both bespoke and off-the-shelf digital learning products Take ownership of assigned modules or workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and milestone tracking Maintain accurate, version-controlled documentation throughout the project lifecycle Build or support builds in authoring tools, ensuring alignment with design specifications and accessibility standards

Discovery & Insight




Lead content discovery with SMEs and stakeholders to define learning needs and priorities Conduct independent topic research and apply instructional frameworks to unfamiliar or technical subjects Shape learning experiences that meet defined learner outcomes, client goals, and business context Contribute learner-focused insights and evidence-informed recommendations during design discussions

Cross-Functional Collaboration




Partner with Project Managers, QA, Developers, and fellow designers to deliver cohesive learning solutions Participate in stakeholder meetings to gather input, present ideas, and align on direction Brief or guide team members (e.g. media designers, copy editors) to ensure consistency and quality Actively contribute to team ceremonies, retrospectives, and shared initiatives

Product Communications




Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and clients Share project updates, flag risks, and manage dependencies effectively Present learning design rationale and respond to feedback with a solution-focused mindset Ensure all content meets Learning Pool's standards for brand, accessibility, and tone of voice

Innovation & Growth




Bring creativity and problem-solving to learning design challenges across projects Explore and apply new tools, formats, and techniques in collaboration with the wider team Share resources, insights, and best practices to support continuous improvement Support informal mentoring of Associate Learning Designers and contribute to team development

Who We Are Looking For




The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate:




Qualifications: You will hold a degree in English, Education, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field. Professional experience: You will have experience in online learning, education, communications, or a related content field, involving the creation or support of digital learning or written content for defined audiences. Writing and editing: You will have strong writing and editing skills suited to digital learning formats. Consultation skills: You will have excellent listening and questioning skills to support effective content consultation and collaboration. Content translation: You will be able to translate technical or complex topics into clear, learner-friendly language and engaging learning experiences. Project management: You will have experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. Technical familiarity: You will have familiarity with e-learning tools, learning platforms, or emerging media trends. Teamwork: You will be confident, open-minded, and proactive in collaborative team environments.

Although not essential, it would be advantageous if you had experience in the following:




Learning theory knowledge: You will have an understanding of learning theory and digital design principles. Tool proficiency: You will have working knowledge of e-learning tools (e.g. Articulate, Adapt, or similar).
