Working directly with the
Director of Organisational Capability
, the post holder will design the long-term blueprint for the Academy's next phase -- aligning future skills, digital capability, talent pathways, and organisational learning into a unified strategic offer. This is a
strategic leadership role
, focused exclusively on vision, integration and future-readiness; operational delivery will remain with the existing L&D teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Vision & Blueprint
Develop a forward-looking, compelling vision for the Academy as the central hub for all organisational learning, development and talent management.
Design a high-level strategy and roadmap for integrating:
Upskilling of existing workforce
Customer service learning pathways
Business-as-usual (BAU) L&D
Talent management frameworks
Comprehensive onboarding pathways
Define success measures, priorities and milestones to guide the Academy's development.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
Work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with organisational goals and future capability needs.
Engage stakeholders across the organisation to gather insight, validate strategic ideas, and build consensus.
Act as a strategic advisor, providing thought leadership on innovative L&D and talent development approaches.
Integration & Alignment
Map existing learning and talent pathways, identifying opportunities for simplification and strategic alignment under a single Academy structure.
Ensure the Academy delivers a seamless employee experience, supporting development from onboarding through to senior talent progression.
Strategic Communication
Articulate the Academy's future direction through high-level presentations, briefing papers and strategy documents.
Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders, ensuring organisation-wide understanding and buy-in.
Digital Intelligence & Future Readiness
Provide expert guidance on integrating emerging technologies, digital skills and future workforce capabilities into the Academy's long-term vision.
Conduct horizon scanning, scenario planning and market research to ensure the Academy remains forward-thinking and agile.
Recommend frameworks and partnership opportunities that enhance the organisation's ability to adapt to digital disruption.
Propose success measures and strategic priorities for embedding digital intelligence into all learning and talent initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
Significant experience developing L&D, organisational development or talent management strategy at senior/strategic level.
Proven track record in setting vision and direction for large-scale learning or capability-building programmes.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging at executive or board level.
Demonstrated ability to integrate diverse L&D and talent functions into a cohesive, organisation-wide framework (highly desirable).
Skills & Capabilities
Exceptional strategic thinking, conceptualisation and analytical ability.
Ability to synthesise complex information into clear, actionable strategic outputs.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
High level of credibility, confidence and professional presence when engaging senior stakeholders.
