Why This Role Matters
The Learning & Development Consultant plays a crucial part in the Society by acting as a vital link between the organisation, the Training Academy, and employees across different locations. This role ensures that staff development is consistent, maintaining high standards and sharing best practices throughout Scotmid Co-op. By bringing in professional expertise and recognised qualifications, the L & D consultant creates a culture of continuous improvement and learning, which is essential for the Society's growth and ability to adapt to change.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Learning & Development Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and shaping engaging learning experiences that support the growth and development of Scotmid Co-op employees. The role will include:
Deliver learning solutions in classroom, online, and one-to-one settings, this may involve travel and overnight stays.
Provide on-the-job coaching for Society employees
Develop interactive learning interventions tailored to various learning preferences and business requirements
Build, maintain, and monitor e-learning modules
Assist in developing a video training library
Regularly review learning materials for accuracy and relevance
Support delivery of the "Grow Aspire" Retail Management Development Programme
Participate in learning and development projects or other tasks as assigned
What You'll Bring
As a Learning & Development Consultant, you should bring professional expertise, relevant qualifications, and a genuine interest in helping others grow. Important skills and qualities include:
Recognised training qualification such as:
o CIPD Certificate in Training Practice
o Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Training and/or Development
o Level 3 Award in Delivering Training (or equivalent)
o Level 3 Award in Education and Training
o Level 4 PTLLS or higher
Strong knowledge of how people learn and effective training methods.
Clear communication and the ability to connect with different groups in various locations.
Experience coaching and mentoring employees, helping them improve, this maybe in the classroom or online.
Creativity in designing interesting and interactive learning activities.
Technical skills for using online learning tools and updating training content.
Attention to detail in keeping learning materials accurate and current.
Teamwork in supporting learning and development projects.
Focus on continuous improvement by encouraging ongoing learning and adaptability in the Society.
Full clean driving licence will be required
