My client is a well-established successful company with a unique branded quality restaurant concept and a portfolio of restaurants across the UK & internationally.
Growing successful unique established & still growing concept restaurant company is looking for an experienced Training/L & D Manager to lead the Training, Learning & Development function for the group. With restaurants throughout the UK & internationally, the company have a unique quality offering that has meant continued success. The company are great to work for & really care about their employees & have numerous operations across the UK in prime locations, each refurbished to a high standard & with a truly unique, high-quality offering - most are franchised with a handful of company ran stores. The senior team are charismatic & passionate and have extensive experience with well-respected, high profile restaurant groups and the culture is very much about working together as one big family.

We are therefore looking for an experienced Training & Development Manager with a background doing a similar role within the hospitality industry.
What are we looking for ?
An experienced Learning & Development Manager or Training Manager or a HR hospitality professional with an L & D focus, from a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, pub, hotel or other hospitality background.
Must have a background in hospitality, including at least 3 years in a training, learning & development role.
The ability to improve, develop & maintain the culture of learning within the business, improving tools & systems, working closely with teams, ensuring that their journey from Day 1 is a fantastic one & that they are supported in their progression in the company.
Hands-on, with the ability to drive the learning strategy and execution across the company. designing, maintaining, and continually enhancing the tools, systems, and culture of learning company wide, shaping the training & supporting the upskilling of our franchise partners, unlocking people's potential and ensuring that they operate to the company's highest standards.
Experience working with franchise partners (preferred but not essential)
The ability to run the L & D function, encouraging a culture of progression and development from within the company so that employees can develop their careers from the ground up & have an amazing employee journey from Day 1.
The ability to support & upskill franchisees and store management teams, using and improving systems and tools within the company to ensure success as well as developing action plans to achieve business objectives & ensuring franchisees & managers are developed & confident to operate their restaurants to the highest standard in line with the company values and principles
The successful candidate will keep up to date with developments within L & D in the industry, understanding & developing the needs and requirements across different parts of the UK & developing training and development activity in line with these.
The ability to regularly review training & service standards across the company, identify priorities & ensure these are communicated, overseeing the roll-out of various systems & learning initiatives, products & systems, monitoring & following-up to ensure delivery & accountability against agreed plans.
The ability to develop strong relationships with franchisees and managers & conduct regular PDPs with each franchisee as well as developing & supporting franchisees, managers and team members by getting to understand their needs and motivations.
The ability to support franchisees to coach & and conduct performance assessments and improve team performance.
Develop induction and e-learning modules
Develop recognition/rewards for team accomplishments
Work within company policies & procedures and display a professional, approachable manner at all times.
Ensure internal strength and talent is developed from within the company so that both team members are developed & have a succession plan.
To ensure that the company develops and maintains a great culture & the growth of the company is supported.
Skills:
Previous experience of working as a Learning & Development Manager or a Training or HR/People Manager with a L & D/Training focus.
Previous experience of doing a similar role within a restaurant or other hospitality business.
Strong team-building skills
Strong organisational and planning skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritise
Great at developing & maintaining strong relationships at all levels
Great communicator - both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to handle confidential & sensitive information
Salary Package:
The starting salary for this role is up to 40 ,000 depending on experience plus benefits. The role is based in the East Midlands area, but there is also the ability to work from home at least one day per week and the successful candidate must be happy to occasionally spend time in restaurant sites - all travel expenses will be covered.
