We are looking to appoint a new apprentice Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and passionate team at Ham Dingle Primary Academy. You will support, assist and supervise children, including those with SEND, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo. As part of the role, you will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. This will include remote CPD sessions (a minimum of 6.5 hours per week during normal working hours) and two national face to face conferences. The qualification could lead to a Higher Level LSA role, or even full teacher training.
About the Apprenticeship
What will the apprentice be doing?
You will participate in the planning and delivery of learning activities to support pupils to achieve learning goals, in coordination with the class teacher and SENCo. Main duties will include: Support, assist and supervise pupils under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo.
Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others.
Engage all pupils in activities which promote independence and resilience.
Employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement.
Supervise and provide individualised support for pupils, including those with SEND, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
Assist with the development and implementation of personalised learning plans.
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
Set challenging and high expectations which promote the Academy's Culture of Excellence
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievements under the guidance of the class teacher

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, delivered by United Learning Apprenticeships. The apprentice will complete training on the job from Ham Dingle Primary Academy including remote CPD sessions (a minimum of 6.5 hours per week during normal working hours) and two national face to face conferences.
What's the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
You will be qualified as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant which could lead to a HLTA role, teacher training and full teaching role.
