We are seeking dedicated support workers to join our team in supporting children with autism and special educational needs. The role involves assisting the teacher in providing care and education to children, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
We are searching for a team of dedicated, like minded individuals to be part of the school and to help build on our values and vision for both the young people and the team.
Day-to-day duties may involve:
Our Teaching Assistants will
Support teaching and learning.
Work with children 1:1 or delivering sessions with small groups of students.
Manage classroom resources.
Take children on educational trips and visits.
Have their lunch with children who struggle socially.
Have a good basic understanding of English and Maths.
Keep children safe when they are experiencing heightened behaviours with strong. behaviour management skills and excellent communication.
Create, play and teach games to pupils to develop their social skills or further their learning.
Celebrate success.
Participate in therapeutic training sessions or reflecting on difficult periods.
Our TAs are highly valued members of our team. We want our TAs to be part of the decision making that drives our school, provides outcomes for children and advocates for every child. We welcome their input in developing both the academic curriculum and the opportunities in our extra-curricular offer - bringing their own interests and passions to the table.
Qualifications
:
Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs and past trauma
Knowledge of early childhood development
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to effectively educate and engage students in learning activities
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
Ability to work well as part of a team and follow directions from the lead teacher
Level 2 SEND qualification

Eligibility criteria
You must be 19+
Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years
Not currently in education
Currently unemployed or in receipt of low wag (Under 25,000)
