Value Education is working with a Secondary School that is seeking support for their students with SEMH and complex needs. We are seeking someone to work in the classroom supporting students on a 1:1 basis with their learning. There is a requirement that the candidate has an up-to-date Team Teach training certificate.
For the role, it is required to have experience working with secondary aged students with additional needs with strong de-escalation techniques.
Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
Provide support for students in small groups and also work on a 1:1 basis
Support teaching and learning with GCSEs and Functional Skills
Maintain positive relationships with pupils and interact according to individual needs
Encourage pupils to interact with the class and engage in activities
Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant role:
Team Teach Qualification - ESSENTIAL* Experience working in across youth work, coaching or within education - ESSENTIAL* Have a strong understanding of SEND and SEMH needs -ESSENTIAL* Strong de-escalation techniques with experience of managing challenging behaviour
Willing to support children of all abilities and needs
