Al-Islamia Institute for Education is seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and proactive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work closely with a pupil with cerebral palsy in our warm and inclusive school environment. The successful candidate will support the pupil to access the full curriculum, participate safely and confidently in physical activities, including PE, and make progress in their academic learning alongside their peers.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 in-class support to help the pupil access learning in reading, writing and maths
Offer practical support in PE lessons, ensuring safety, encouragement and engagement
Prepare adapted resources and scaffold tasks where necessary
Reinforce learning through pre-teaching, guided practice and reinforcement activities
Promote active participation and progress, in line with curriculum expectations
Follow advice and strategies from the SENCO and any external professionals
Contribute to progress tracking and feedback to inform planning and target-setting
Uphold the school's safeguarding and inclusion values in all daily practice
Person Specification
Essential:
A calm, caring and patient manner
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Good spoken and written English
A commitment to the values and ethos of Al-Islamia Institute
Desirable:
Experience of supporting children with SEND, particularly physical needs or mobility impairments
Relevant qualifications in supporting children with SEND (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Moving and Handling)
Experience working in a faith-based or values-led school
Understanding of EHCPs and how to implement support plans
Knowledge of basic first aid and/or manual handling procedures
