About the Role





We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This is a highly rewarding role supporting pupils with complex needs, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and access to high?quality learning.



You will work under the direction of the Class Teacher and Headteacher, contributing to the delivery of the curriculum and supporting pupils' holistic development. The role involves a combination of educational support, personal care and practical assistance throughout the school day.


Key Responsibilities




Supporting pupils' educational and social development

, ensuring their welfare and emotional needs are met

Assisting the teacher with curriculum delivery

and maintaining records of lessons and targets

Leading the class for short periods

in the teacher's absence, following planned activities

Supervising pupils to ensure their safety

at all times

Providing personal care

including toileting, changing and cleaning where required

Preparing and maintaining the classroom environment

throughout the day

Supporting pupils during lunch and drink times

Undertaking delegated healthcare tasks

following appropriate training

Acting as an escort

for pupils during school activities, including minibus or car travel

Supporting purposeful play and enrichment activities

such as outings and swimming

Working flexibly across different classrooms

as needed

Attending staff training and weekly meetings

Contributing to annual review meetings

where appropriate

Upholding the aims and values of the school

Carrying out additional duties

consistent with the role

This post involves strenuous physical activity. All applicants must be able to support with moving and handling; full training will be provided. The school follows a strict Moving and Handling Policy, with adaptations made only following risk assessment.
