What You Need to Succeed
To be successful in the role you will need to:
Have experience of working with children with varying needs primary or preschool setting (essential)
Have a good level of written and spoken English and functional level of mathematical skills and knowledge. (essential)
Have NVQ2 or equivalent as recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning (NOS-STL) (desirable)
Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of pupils. (essential)
Have an interest in how children learn and behave. (essential)
Provide appropriate role models of behaviour both in the classroom and around school (essential)
Really care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult. (essential)
Understand how children communicate in different ways (essential)
Have training in aspects of SEN, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism (desirable)
