Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Wakefield (WF2)
Salary Scale: xc2xa390 to xc2xa3105 per day

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring students are given the personalised assistance they need to succeed. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them overcome barriers to learning. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Personalised Support: Assist students in accessing the curriculum by providing tailored support suited to their individual learning needs.
• Behaviour and Engagement: Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive participation in lessons and activities.
• Emotional and Social Development: Provide a safe and supportive space for students to develop confidence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual learning plans and support strategies.
• Specialised Training: Prior training in Team Teach or Makaton is preferred, but not essential. Successful candidates will receive Team Teach training free of charge.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role supporting students with additional needs.
• Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with behaviour support or communication strategies such as Team Teach or Makaton is desirable.
