Job Title: Learning Support Assistant



Location: Wakefield



Contract: Part time - 29.6 hours, Permanent



Salary: 23,815 per annum, pro rata



About the role:



Askham Bryan College is delighted to offer you the opportunity to become a learning support assistant for 16-18 young people and 19-25-year-old adult students who are attending the Prince's Trust programme. This role is key to supporting our students' progression and achievement and benefit fully from the course.

This is an exciting time to join Askham Bryan and be part of a community-based Prince's Trust team. We are looking for people who have experience of working with young people and adults in the community.

Learning Support Assistants provide pro-active in-class support to students. You will also be expected to maintain high quality records of that support, in line with identified needs and support strategies.

The successful candidate will be required to:

Assimilate relevant information relating to students' needs and support requirements. Support students to achieve their goals. Work with and assist the tutor in planning and delivering sessions. Record daily interventions that support learning. Support students in their assessments by providing the support arrangements the students have in place. Accompany students on residential, day trips or work experience as required.
