About the role


------------------


As a Learning Technologist within the Digital Learning Environment (DLE) team, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and ongoing support of UCL's core digital education platforms and services. The DLE team operates in Agile sprints and brings together learning technologists, technical specialists, and developers to deliver high-quality, reliable, and user-focused digital learning environments.



In this role, you will support the resolution of complex technical and pedagogical interactions, working with colleagues to investigate, test, and implement improvements to our systems. You will contribute to software testing, release readiness, and the transition of new developments into live service, ensuring that updates are pedagogically informed and operationally sound. The post also involves supporting service development processes, including aspects of data protection, accessibility, and information security, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and administrative records.



This is a highly collaborative role that bridges pedagogy and technology, requiring you to work closely with developers, product owners, and academic colleagues to ensure that UCL's digital learning environments continue to evolve to meet the needs of staff and students.


About you

You will have experience supporting learning technologies within a technical or service-oriented environment, ideally in higher education. You will bring both a sound understanding of Digital Pedagogy and a willingness to engage with the technical and procedural aspects of digital education platforms.



You will be confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes developers and technical specialists, contributing to testing, troubleshooting, and service improvement activities. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills are essential, as is a proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving.
