The Department of Earth Science & Engineering is recruiting a learning technologist to assist with its use of VR for undergraduate and masters level teaching. The role will include practical management of the VR labs, and development of new VR teaching applications.
What you would be doing

You will:
Oversee deployment and maintenance of VR hardware
Provide practical support to staff and students during teaching deployments of VR applications
Develop new VR teaching applications in collaboration with members of academic staff and/or students undertaking summer projects.
Maintain existing VR applications, and undertake conversion from old frameworks into newer systems
What we are looking for
---------------------------
The ideal candidate will have an Earth Science background, together with experience of VR development within the Unity game engine. Strong software-development skills are essential. They will have strong communication skills, and be comfortable and capable in a practical support role. They will have vision and enthusiasm for the application of VR in teaching, and are expected to be proactive in the development of new applications.
