About the Candidate




We are seeking an Accountancy professional who demonstrates strong subject expertise alongside a genuine commitment to further education. The successful candidate will embody the college's values by showing respect for learners through inclusive, supportive teaching; innovation in the use of engaging, up-to-date learning approaches; courage in adapting practice, embracing change, and challenging learners to achieve their potential; and excellence through high standards of delivery, assessment, and continuous professional development. Above all, they would inspire learners to develop both technical competence and confidence in applying accountancy skills in real-world contexts.

About the Role




The role involves delivering high-quality, learner-centred teaching that supports students from a range of backgrounds to develop both theoretical understanding and practical accounting skills. Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned to awarding body requirements, assessing and monitoring learner progress, and providing timely, constructive feedback to support achievement and progression. The role also includes supporting learners' personal and professional development, maintaining current industry and subject knowledge, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing learning environment.

Role Responsibilities



As a teacher of Accountancy, you will: + Ensure high-quality delivery of AAT programmes
+ Develop and enhance the curriculum to meet industry standards.
+ Support student progression and achievement through effective teaching, coaching, and leadership.
+ Monitor and drive performance, ensuring alignment with the college's strategic goals.

Qualifications



Minimum Level 4 in Accountancy Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards

Essential Skills & Experience



Minimum of two years industry experience, with up-to-date knowledge of industry standard practice Previous teaching or training experience in a college or professional setting, demonstrating effective instructional skills and an ability to engage diverse learners Working collaboratively with students and colleagues to review student progress, supporting achievement of learning and personal development goals Planning and delivering sessions that are safe, inclusive, stretching and relevant to learners Providing constructive and timely feedback to support student progress and achievement Using digital technologies safely, effectively and to promote innovative learning
