We're looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable
Lecturer in Carpentry
to join our dynamic Modern Construction team. This is your chance to contribute to successful learning experiences, shape innovative curriculum, and make a real impact on students' careers.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing
As a Lecturer in Carpentry, you'll be instrumental in delivering high-quality education and empowering students from Level 1 to Level 4 (HND). Your main responsibilities will include:
Delivering engaging teaching activities
that meet or exceed College standards.
Assessing student work
and providing constructive, timely feedback to motivate and inspire.
Developing and reviewing course materials
and schemes of work.
Providing academic tutorials
and guiding students to improve performance.
Ensuring high standards of Health and Safety
within the department and College.
Contributing to course coordination
and potentially internal verification/moderation.
Assisting with student recruitment activities
, including interviews and open evenings.
Embedding essential English and Maths skills
into all learning activities.
We're Looking for Someone Who Is:
A seasoned carpentry professional with
comprehensive and recent industry experience
.
Passionate about sharing knowledge and able to
inspire and motivate students
.
Equipped with a
minimum Level 3 or 4, HND, degree, or professional industry qualification in Carpentry
.
Holds a
Level 5 Teaching qualification
(e.g., DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed or PGCE) or is committed to achieving it.
Has an
Assessor Award (A1/TQA/CAVA)
.
Possesses
in-depth knowledge
of the subject specialism to teach across all levels.
Creative, adaptable, and possesses
exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
.
Committed to
safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
.
Dedicated to

and the principles of inclusive learning.
Previous teaching experience and Internal Verifier awards (V1/IQA) are desirable but not essential.
