Salary/Benefits:

Salary is between 31,930 and 36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays,People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Note

- Salary and Annual Leave entitlement representative for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Childcare to join our Adult & Community Learning and ESOL department at The Bedford College Group

. Please note that this role is for Internal Applicants only.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

Teaching & Assessment

- Plan, deliver, and assess accredited and non-accredited childcare and teaching assistant courses for adult learners in the community.

Learner Support & Progression

- Provide inclusive, engaging learning experiences tailored to diverse needs, supporting learners' academic and career progression.

Curriculum & Collaboration

- Contribute to curriculum development, prepare teaching materials, and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.

Pastoral & Professional Duties

- Offer pastoral support, attend meetings and CPD sessions, and uphold professional standards in communication and record-keeping.

Statutory Responsibilities

- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health & safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with college policies.

About you:

Essential Qualifications

- Level 3 or above in Childcare/Early Years Education, teaching qualification (e.g. AET, PGCE, CertEd), and Level 2 English and Maths.

Relevant Experience

- Background in childcare or early years settings, experience teaching or training adults, and understanding of safeguarding and SEND.

Skills & Attributes

- Strong communication, lesson planning, and ICT proficiency; empathetic, inclusive, professional, and resilient with a commitment to learner success.

Compliance & Mobility

- Enhanced DBS clearance, willingness to travel within the community, and adherence to college values and policies.

Professional Standards

- Ability to deliver high-quality learning, maintain boundaries, contribute to team culture, and continuously update skills and knowledge.
