We are looking to recruit a full-time/part-time Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) with specialization in Computer Science to teach within the department of Initial Teacher Education. This opportunity is linked to our new innovative STEM programme and our relaunch of PGDE Computer Science.

The successful candidate will have a passion for a high-quality student experience and be motivated to contribute to a culture of high-quality research-enhanced teaching within the department and the School. We are ambitious and seek to build on our recent innovations within playful approaches to teaching STEM and the adaptation of education working with Artificial Intelligence. While working with others you will work to enhance the School of Education's teaching-quality reputation; ultimately, to make a difference by improving children's education and experiences.


An inspirational teacher, the successful candidate's students will be motivated, creative individuals, with a strong understanding of social justice and global citizenship. Candidates will have been involved in contributing to new thinking and ways of working with a developmental disposition; a passion for quality; and a keen ability to understand changing educational, socio-political, and economic landscapes.


Candidates must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) (Computer Science) registration, hold good networks relevant to the role, have an international outlook, and be excited about opportunities which may arise to work internationally.


Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, 51,039 - 55,755 with placement according to qualifications and experience.


As this post is funded by the Scottish Government it is available for a period of 23 months.
