Location: Paignton, Devon

South Devon College is recruiting for a Lecturer Engineering to undertake formal scheduled teaching duties as follows: teaching, tutorials, and student assessment. The role will require the delivery of high-quality lectures, workshops, and practical sessions in Engineering. This includes the development and update of course materials, lesson plans, and resources to ensure they are current and relevant. An essential part of this role is to provide skills training demonstrating various techniques and the use of equipment related to engineering activities.



The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 qualification relating to engineering practices within an electrical or mechanical engineering specialism, with relevant industry experience. You will have experience in a teaching role with a keen interest/understanding of student-centred learning. You will have excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to working.


Successful candidates may be able to apply for a recruitment and retention payment through the Department for Education, Targeted Retention Incentive. providing they are within their first five years of teaching within Further Education. For the 2024 to 2025 academic year, the targeted retention incentive payment ranges from 2,000 to 6,000.
