About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering to join our Hair and Beauty department at The Bedford College Group
.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
Teaching & Student Development
- Deliver high-quality Hairdressing and Barbering lessons across various levels, supporting students to achieve their full potential through engaging and inclusive teaching.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
- Assess student work to awarding body standards, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records of progress, taking action to support student achievement.
Curriculum & Resource Development
- Contribute to curriculum innovation, develop engaging learning materials, and ensure learning environments are inclusive, diverse, and meet health and safety standards.
Collaboration & Administration
- Work with colleagues and support staff to enhance learning experiences, manage classroom behaviour, and complete administrative tasks such as registers and reports.
Safeguarding & Professional Growth
- Uphold responsibilities in safeguarding, equality, and health and safety, while actively engaging in CPD and training to stay current in industry and teaching practices.
About you:
Qualifications & Industry Experience
- Holds Level 3 Hairdressing and Level 2/3 Barbering qualifications, assessor and teaching credentials, with recent industry experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Teaching & Curriculum Skills
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching, prepare lesson plans and schemes of work, track student progress, and manage behaviour across various levels and age groups.

- Demonstrates alignment with values such as Student Centred, Inclusive, and Educational Excellence, while contributing positively to team goals and respecting diverse perspectives.
