About the Role
We are a thriving subject area in the exciting multi-disciplinary department of English and Creative Arts. With excellent facilitates, dynamic teachers, world class researchers and an ever-expanding array of external partners and collaborators, the department is going from strength to strength.
As Lecturer in Animation, you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our Animation degree, contributing to the delivery of our modules on Performance & Character Animation Techniques; Animation Studio Skills; Applying Animation; Making it Move and Creative Enterprise & Employment, and other areas of our core curriculum, including the final year Dissertation, depending on your areas of expertise and experience. Experience in professional Animation and an understanding of sustainable production practices would be a distinct advantage. We particularly welcome experience in character animation performance across all animation formats, including physical media, stop-motion and digital 2D/3D.
You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the qualitative and quantitative requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.
This vacancy is for two Lecturer in Animation post: 0.6 Animation practitioner (2-D, character) & 0.4 Animation practitioner (3-D CGI), Part time (15 or 22 hours per week).
