Lecturer in Construction (Civil Engineering)
Fixed term until 26 June 2026
Full Time, 35 hrs per week
Salary: 41,838- 50,359 per annum, pro rata (Candidates holding TQFE will commence on 48,227 per annum, pro rata)
Are you an experienced professional in the construction industry with a passion for teaching and shaping the future workforce? The Built Environment Team at City of Glasgow College are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Lecturer to join us.
This is your opportunity to use your industry knowledge to deliver high-quality learning and teaching, inspire students, and contribute to curriculum development aligned with employer and industry needs.
What You'll Do:

• Deliver engaging teaching sessions, including practical activities and classroom session that inspire and motivate students.

• Develop and assess coursework, providing constructive feedback to support student progress and achievement.

• Collaborate with employers to enhance curriculum design and ensure it meets current industry standards.

• Use a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student performance and set clear targets to promote success.

• Play a key role in ensuring students gain the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the construction industry.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in Civil Engineering roles within the construction industry, showcasing your practical expertise.

• A strong track record of achieving excellent outcomes in learning, teaching, and assessment.

• Experience in the planning and monitoring of construction programmes.

• Experience in using Microsoft Project software.

• Experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, especially in a construction or design context, would be a plus.

• Experience working with employers to develop industry-relevant curricula.

• A solid understanding of current learning, teaching, and quality assurance frameworks.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under strict deadlines.

Qualifications You'll Need:

• A TQFE (or equivalent) or a willingness to gain one through City of Glasgow College.

• Relevant professional qualifications.
