The School of Social Sciences at UWE Bristol is seeking to appoint a permanent 0.5 FTE Lecturer in Counselling Psychology. The successful applicant will be a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist (or nearing HCPC registration) with practice experience. They will have an interest in teaching and personal tutoring, oversee clinical placements with strong interpersonal skills. We would be pleased to hear from practitioners who are seeking a part-time academic role while remaining in clinical practice.
The post is based with the Psychology team within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences within a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes accredited by the BPS, HCPC and BACP. Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers Psychological Sciences Research Group at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience and innovative approaches to teaching. We collaborate closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure that our curricula remain current, topical, and relevant to societal needs.
About you
You will join a committed and experienced team in the delivery of our HCPC approved and BPS accredited Doctorate in Counselling Psychology programme. We are seeking to appoint a passionate counselling psychologist with practice experience, who is keen to develop in an academic role through teaching delivery across the programme. We are also seeking those who can use their interpersonal skills and practice experience to oversee and maintain the existing and well-established placements and partnerships role. This involves overseeing and supporting our doctoral trainees, as the bridge between students and external placement partners using the infrastructure built up over the last decade.
