Part-time: 26.25 hours per week
Open-ended (permanent)
We seek to appoint two part-time Lecturers (0.75 FTE) in Fine Art.
The Opportunity:
The post holders will have a national or international reputation in contemporary art, and a developing record of outputs commensurate with the requirements of REF cycles. It is anticipated that the post holders will have considerable experience in teaching fine art studio and contextual studies to art students. We welcome applicants with an expertise in performance, installation or material practices, particularly in painting.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of research at the highest level. They should be able to demonstrate the potential to supervise doctoral candidates and research assistants/postdoctoral researchers.
In addition to making a major contribution to the School of Art, the successful applicant will play an active and collegiate role within Edinburgh College of Art, the wider University and the external environment, both nationally and internationally.

  • An enthusiastic, positive and creative approach to teaching and research
  • Evidence of developing and delivering high quality, research-led teaching to both undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • The ability to work as part of a team, with openness and a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion
  • A track record in research and attracting funding, particularly from peer reviewed sources
49,559 to 60,907 per annum, pro-rata (Grade 8)
