Our innovative and growing Directorate in Engineering, Construction & Building Technology (ECBT) at Suffolk New College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geospatial Surveying Lecturer to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an academic, industry professional, or recent graduate to shape the future of geospatial education.

The Role

As a Lecturer, you will be primarily responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment across our level 3 and level 6 programmes. You will be expected to:

Design and deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and field-based training in core geospatial surveying topics. Contribute to the development and enhancement of existing and new modules and programmes, ensuring they reflect current industry practice and technological advancements (e.g., drone-based photogrammetry, terrestrial laser scanning, advanced GNSS). Work closely with our apprenticeships team to ensure the curriculum taught in college aligns with the requirements of the apprenticeship standards. Work with managers to propose short, commercial or CPD courses for those already in industry. Engage in scholarly activity and/or research to maintain currency and contribute to the academic profile of the department. Participate in administrative duties related to teaching and departmental management. Liaise with industry partners to ensure the curriculum meets employer needs.

This post is based at our Ipswich campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site therefore you will be required to work at and travel between other campuses to suit the needs of the learning, and make best use of our spaces.
