Responsibilities as our
Lecturer in Music
will include:
Teach BTEC Music and lead practical music ensembles as agreed with the Curriculum Leader,
Provide pastoral support where required
Act as Course Leader, when requested
Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate
Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of student
Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning
Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course
Organise and participate in relevant visits, field trips etc
Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents' Evening, as appropriate
Advise and assist the Curriculum Leader and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms
As our
Lecturer in Music
, you'll
ideally have:
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant subject area
Appropriate teacher training qualification
Excellent teaching skills
Experience in delivering Music BTEC Programme at level 3
Experience in running music ensembles
Demonstrate a capability with relevant Music software
The ability to manage learners and learning effectively
The ability to develop effective learning resources
Excellent interpersonal skills
The ability to relate well to learners of all abilities and to assess learner needs
