About the Role



As a Lecturer in Music, you'll be instrumental in providing exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment across a range of levels, from Entry to Higher Education. You'll have the exciting opportunity to:

Design and Deliver:

Plan and develop engaging schemes of work, lesson plans, and innovative teaching resources, including cutting-edge online learning materials.

Inspire and Motivate:

Deliver captivating sessions using diverse teaching methods, assessing student work with constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.

Nurture Talent:

Create and monitor SMART learning targets, implementing positive interventions to ensure every student achieves their full potential.

Innovate Education:

Apply theoretical understanding of effective teaching practices, adapting delivery methods, including blended and technology-enhanced learning, to maximise effectiveness.

Collaborate and Grow:

Contribute to curriculum development, participate in student recruitment, and engage in continuous professional development to stay at the forefront of music education.

About You



You're an enthusiastic, motivated, and adaptable individual with a deep understanding of the music industry. You thrive in a collaborative environment but are also adept at working independently.

Essential Requirements:



A minimum Level 3 or 4 qualification (HND, degree, or professional industry qualification) in a relevant music subject area. Good general level of education, including Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths. Proven industry/commercial experience in your subject area. Live Sound and performance experience. Up-to-date knowledge of current initiatives impacting vocational/subject areas. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Evidence of continuous professional development and a flexible approach to working practices.

Desirable, but not essential, qualifications include:



Level 5 Teaching qualification (e.g., DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, or PGCE) Level 3 teacher/training qualification (e.g., PTLLS) or a commitment to working towards one. Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications (if relevant). Previous teaching experience. E-learning skills for developing resources and learning pathways.
