About us

The UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is a collaborative and cross-disciplinary environment where clinicians, engineers, allied health professionals and researchers are constantly striving for innovative approaches to treatment. This includes developing highly effective methods which go beyond the boundaries of conventional wisdom and treating each patient as an individual.

The post holder will teach on the Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences programmes, which include BSc students and Medical School students. These programmes have a strong focus on a) the clinical applications of exercise and physical activity for the prevention and management of disease b) the application of exercise in the fields of psychology and neuroscience.

About the role

The post holder will primarily focus on teaching physiology, scientific research methods and related topics in Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences, ensuring a high standard of education for undergraduate and postgraduate students within the UCL Connected Curriculum framework. This will involve leading multiple modules with high practical elements and supervising student research projects.

This is a full time, 1 FTE (36.5 hours per week) post with an intended start date of August 2023.

About you

Applicants must have a PhD and a degree in a field relevant to Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences.

Extensive experience in the field of Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences is essential.

Applicants will be expected to have experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including teaching practicals in sport science labs and overseeing laboratory based student projects.

Relevant teaching qualification or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) is desirable
