This role will suit a candidate with specialist expertise in film finance, line producing and script development. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of our BA Filmmaking programme, supporting students in developing the practical, creative, and professional skills needed to succeed in the contemporary screen industries. Delivering core instruction in the program through lectures and workshops, while integrating recent industry experience and new perspectives.

Job Purpose:

Prepare students with the production skills needed to work professionally in the Film and TV industry. Maintain professional practice and/or research in film producing, contributing to the department's academic and industry profile. Utilising contacts within the industry to establish a connection between the university and the industry by inviting guest speakers and lecturers. Contribute to recruitment through community outreach, open days and masterclasses.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



Contribute to the design, delivery, and assessment of modules in filmmaking, with a particular focus on film finance, line producing and script development. Supervise and support student film productions, advising on budgets, scheduling, and logistical planning. Provide specialist teaching on areas such as raising finance, navigating funding models, and managing the business side of filmmaking. Contribute to the teaching of script development and, where appropriate, share expertise in screenwriting practice. Support the wider programme team with curriculum development, student mentoring, and collaborative projects.
