The ideal candidate will possess a strong administrative skill set and a foundational understanding of secretarial procedures within a legal environment. While prior experience is advantageous, it is not essential. We are particularly interested in individuals who demonstrate a high level of efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information clearly and appropriately to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting senior solicitors with administrative tasks related to property transactions, including legal documentation, financial matters, and contracts.
Ensuring all post-completion tasks are carried out promptly and accurately following property transactions.
Submitting SDLT (Stamp Duty Land Tax) returns to HMRC and ensuring timely payment.
Registering completed transactions with HM Land Registry and monitoring progress through to final registration.
Liaising with clients, mortgage lenders, and third parties to resolve post-completion queries.
Reviewing Land Registry documents to ensure accuracy before submission
Managing requisitions from the Land Registry and ensuring they are responded to within specified timeframes.
Filing and archiving completed files in accordance with firm and regulatory procedures.
Conducting legal research and drafting various documents.
Liaising with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
Managing time effectively to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
Contributing positively as part of a collaborative legal team.
