ONP Solicitors, a key member of the Movera Group, is seeking a motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our successful and well-established Commercial Property Department based in our state-of-the-art office in Stockport.

This role is predominantly office based, with the potential for 1 day working from home after an initial training period.



This role can be on a full-time basis or part-time basis 4 days a week depending on candidate preference.

The Role:




You'll be a key player in assisting the Commercial Property team, primarily acting for homeowners in agreeing deeds of easements with electricity companies. This is a crucial area where your support will make a real difference.


Beyond that, you'll also get involved in a wider range of property transactions. This includes:

Sales and acquisitions Landlord and tenant matters Commercial finance Pension-related property issues

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse experience across the commercial property landscape, working on varied and interesting cases!

Key Responsibilities:



Managing Easement Matters:

You'll handle easement cases from start to finish using our case management system, with guidance from a qualified solicitor. This involves processing correspondence, preparing and finalising deeds of easement, arranging signatures, and overseeing completion.

Supporting Property Transactions:

You'll assist with various property transactions, including amending documents and deeds, ordering routine property searches, and producing correspondence.

Client and Administrative Support:

You'll be a vital point of contact, dealing directly with clients, agents, and lenders. Additionally, you'll manage administrative tasks like opening new matters, handling incoming communications (post, emails, calls), filing, scanning, and assisting with archiving and document retrieval.

General Caseload Assistance:

You'll provide comprehensive support to Fee Earners and Solicitors with their caseloads, undertaking word processing, dictation, and other ad-hoc administrative duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the team.

The Person:




We're seeking a proactive and keen individual to join our team. Ideally, you'll have:

Prior Legal Experience:

We'd love to see candidates with previous experience working in a legal environment, however this is not essential.

Strong Academic Foundation:

If you're new to the legal field, you'll need a minimum of GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths.

Genuine Interest:

A real enthusiasm for working in commercial property is key.

Excellent Communication Skills:

You'll be dealing directly with clients, agents, and lenders, so clear and professional communication is essential.

Attention to Detail:

With responsibilities ranging from processing deeds of easement to amending legal documents, a meticulous approach is crucial.

Organisational Skills:

You'll be managing incoming correspondence, opening new matters, and supporting fee earners, so strong organisational abilities are a must.

IT Proficiency:

Experience with case management systems and general office software will be highly beneficial.
