Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Legal Assistant to support our Litigation Solicitor/Managing Partner. The successful candidate will assist with the smooth running of the department by providing comprehensive administrative and legal support. This role does not involve fee-earning or managing your own caseload but will require a solid understanding of legal processes and documentation within a litigation setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Litigation Solicitor, including file management, document preparation, and correspondence.
Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, letters, and forms.
Manage incoming and outgoing post, emails, and telephone calls professionally and efficiently.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files in both digital and paper form.
Liaise with clients, courts, counsel, and other third parties as required.
Assist in preparing bundles for court and client meetings.
Schedule appointments, manage diaries, and organise meetings.
Ensure compliance with firm procedures, confidentiality requirements, and data protection obligations.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience working for a solicitor, ideally within a litigation or dispute resolution team.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Experience using LEAP case management software is an advantage.
A proactive, professional, and reliable team player with a positive attitude.
