We are a well-established High Street Solicitors in Worthing, situated approximately 12 miles from Brighton. Our offices are conveniently located a few minutes' walk from the train station and Worthing town centre.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant/Secretary to join our busy and friendly team.
The ideal candidate will have previous relevant experience in a Residential Conveyancing department (knowledge of Commercial would be an advantage), assisting with files from start to finish, including:
Opening files on case management system (although training will be given)
Carrying out identity checks
Carrying out land registry searches
Submitting land registry applications
Submitting stamp duty and land tax returns
Preparing contracts
Applying for local searches
Preparing financial statements
Dealing with completions
Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
Be IT literate, have good keyboard skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Possess good attention to detail
Be able to work well in a team, as well as being self-motivated to work independently where required
To communicate with clients, estate agents and other third parties in person and on telephone
Be flexible with a 'can-do' approach, and the willingness and ability to adapt to the needs of the business
We anticipate the role will be full time; hours and salary are negotiable.
